Confirm your income to continue Child Care Subsidy payments

If your family received Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for the 2018-19 or 2019-20 financial year, it is important that you confirm your income with the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and Services Australia by Wednesday 30 June 2021.

IF YOU DON’T CONFIRM YOUR 2018-2019 INCOME

You will need to pay back all the CCS you received during that period and your CCS will be cancelled from 12 July 2021.

IF YOU DON’T CONFIRM YOUR 2019-2020 INCOME

Your CCS will reduce to 0% and you will have to pay full fees for child care.

If you confirm your income after Wednesday 30 June 2021, we can start your CCS again. However, if there is a gap between your CCS stopping and starting again, you will miss out on CCS for that period.

How to confirm your income:

Please note: you do not need to call the ATO or the YMCA to confirm your income.

If you have a partner, they need to do this as well. If you separated during the 2018/2019 financial year, Services Australia still needs information relating to your ex-partner's income.

To check if you need to lodge a return, use the ‘DO I NEED TO LODGE A TAX RETURN?’ tool on the ATO website.

When you lodge your tax return, the ATO will send Services Australia your income information. This usually occurs within 28 days from when you get your Notice of Assessment.

Even if you’ve told the ATO that you don’t need to lodge a tax return, Services Australia still needs to be informed.

Confirm your income by logging into your Centrelink online account through myGov or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.

Visit the Services Australia website for further details about your CCS entitlements.
